SSS Calamity Loan Online: How to Apply Without Leaving Your Home

sss calamity loan

Applying the SSS calamity loan assistance program to sustain your present needs during the Covid19 crisis is now easier too! You don’t need to leave your home to go to SSS branch to submit your application. The CLAP or Calamity Loan Assistance Program started last June 15, 2020, and they will accept loan application submission until September 14, 2020. This program covers the members of the entire Philippines affected by the strict community quarantine to manage the Covid19 crisis in pursuance to the Proclamation No. 929 by President Rodrigo Duterte signed on March 16, 2020, declaring the entire Philippines under the state of calamity.

Since government efforts like DSWD-SAP assistance and many others are not enough for family’s needs during and after 3 months of no work and isolation, SSS offers this program to members for a lower interest rate of a 6% rate per annum. This rate is equivalent to only (0.50%) per month is way much lower than Bombay’s 5/6 (20%) and the bank’s interest rate. So, mas makaka-save kayo dito keysa kumapit sa Bombay 🙂

If you need additional cash assistance you might want to avail of this program which you can get a loanable amount equivalent to your one (1) month salary credit. So I have here listed the SSS requirements or guidelines and the step-by-step guide to walk you through to submit your SSS calamity loan online application.

Requirements

To be qualified for SSS calamity loan assistance, you must:

  1. be a registered member on the SSS website (So if you are not registered yet, do it first before proceeding)
  2. have at least 36 months of contributions
  3. have at least 6 months of contribution for the past 12 months prior to your submission of application

  4. have not been granted permanent disability like permanent disability or retirement
  5. have NO outstanding loan
  6. your present mailing address is in the Philippines.

(This is also important because your loan proceeds will be released in a form of a check that will be mailed to your preferred mailing address.) But if you have UMID or Unified Multi-Purpose Identification ATM card, your loan proceeds shall be automatically credited to your account within 1 to 5 working days (depending on your mode of receiving) from the approval date of the loan. Loan proceeds will also be released with Union Bank (UBP) Quick Card and Development Bank of the Philippines PESONet accredited participating banks.

If you think you have met the minimum requirements to avail of the additional cash assistance program, you may proceed with your online application.
